Tracking a cooler stretch to start the week

TODAY: Fog is possible through 8 AM. Monday is mild and mostly dry, with highs below average, in the low-to-mid 80s under partly cloudy skies. A weak and small trough of low pressure in the upper atmosphere will keep a slim chance for isolated afternoon storms near I-44. Winds are light and from the northeast.

TONIGHT: Skies are mostly clear overnight. Temperatures fall into the 60s early Tuesday morning.

EXTENDED: Another mild day, with even more sunshine, is expected on Tuesday. Highs are likely in the mid-80s. The upper-level low continues to hang around just to our southeast, leaving a slim chance for isolated storms again near I-44 in the afternoon. More dry weather is forecast for Wednesday, but temperatures start to climb with some south flow ahead of our next wave on Thursday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday through Friday, with the best chances on Thursday night. Thursday will be warmer than Wednesday, with a high forecast near 90. Rain is expected to exit Saturday morning, leaving us drier over the weekend.
