Another member of the 2025-26 Mizzou men's basketball team is getting a shot at the next level.

On Friday, the Memphis Grizzlies announced that Columbia native Jevon Porter has made the club's Summer League roster. The former Tiger forward is now the fourth player from last season's roster to officially pursue a professional career, joining forward Mark Mitchell, center Shawn Phillips Jr. and guard Jayden Stone.

Porter spent one season with Coach Gates, in Columbia, and appeared in each of the first 12 games of the season, making 10 starts. However, injury plagued the end of his college career, as the former Tolton star missed the last 21 games of the 2025-26 season due to an injury. In the time he did get on the court in the black and gold, Porter averaged 6.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.

Before becoming a Tiger, Porter made stops at Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine, where he spent one and two seasons, respectively. During his lone campaign as a Lion, he was one of just 11 players nationally to total at least 350 points, 200 rebounds, 40 made 3-pointers and 35 blocks during one season. He ranked second on that squads with 12.5 points per game, while leading the group with 7.2 rebounds and 35 blocks.

Of course, Porter was well-known in the Columbia hoops scene well before he made his return to campus for his final collegiate season. He graduated from Tolton Catholic High School as the nation's No. 82 overall player in the Class of 2022. In his senior year, he averaged 23.9 points and 13.2 rebounds for the Trailblazers, helping the program to a state runner-up finish.

Porter will have plenty of NBA expertise on his side, as he embarks on this new journey. His brother, Michael, who played for the Tigers in the 2017-18 season, was selected No. 14 overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. Michael is still in the league, currently as a member of the Brooklyn Nets.
