Nick Bolton set to be inducted into Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A two-time Super Bowl champion will be joining the University of Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame in the Class of 2026.

On Monday, MU Athletics released a video on its social media accounts, showing Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who was also an offensive line coach at Mizzou, surprising linebacker Nick Bolton with the news that he's made it into his alma mater's Hall of Fame.

In that video Bolton said, "The state, the city from Columbia, all the way to Kansas City, man, it's kind of been my home, been my home and my peace, and I've made a lot of friends, lot of memories. So I hope to continue to make them man. Proud of [my teammates], ya'll helped me get to this and be who I am as well. M-I-Z, baby."

Bolton had quite a career in the black and gold, ending his three seasons as a two-time All-SEC First Team selection and as a former consensus All-American. The Texas native ended his Tiger career with a total of 224 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, 15 passes defended and one fumble recovery.

He spent one season, in 2020, under current head coach Eli Drinkwitz, when the linebacker was named a First Team All-SEC selection, a Second Team All-American and a finalist for the Butkus Award, which is given the top linebacker at the collegiate level.

After his time in Columbia came to an end, Bolton was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he's been ever since. He's now played a crucial role in two Super Bowl victories for Coach Reid and company, including a now-famous scoop and score touchdown on a fumble recovery in the Chiefs' Super Bowl LVII win over Philadelphia.

Soon, Bolton will head to St. Joseph, Mo. for another edition of Chiefs training camp, as he prepares for his sixth season in Kansas City.
