A 38-year-old Ashland woman was seriously hurt in a crash, south of Ashland in Boone County, just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash happened on Highway 63, just north of Gilmore Lane. A 2025 Peterbilt 548, driven by a 25-year-old Columbia man, had turned right onto U.S. 63 in the right lane heading north when the woman, driving a 2020 Honda Fit, hit the back of the Peterbilt's flatbed.

The woman was taken to University Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. The man was not hurt, according to the report.

The report states the man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, but the woman was not. The Peterbilt has moderate damage and the Honda is totaled.
