COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A crash on Interstate 70 near the Boone, Callaway County line caused traffic to back up Monday morning.

An alert from Boone County Joint Communications sent just before 7:30 a.m. states the crash happened at the 134.6 mile-marker of the interstate and to use caution.

Both lanes reopened around 8:30 a.m.

An ABC 17 News videographer on scene saw traffic being diverted to one lane as crews worked to clean up the crash. The vehicle, which was hauling a trailer, was seen on the right side of the road and a crane was seen being used to get the area cleared.

Sgt. Kyle Green, with MSHP's Troop F, said the crash was a rollover involving one vehicle with a trailer. Green says there are injuries from this crash.

Boone County Fire Protection District Assistant Fire Chief Gale Blomenkamp told ABC 17 that three people are possibly injured.

An MU Health Care ambulance, crews with the Boone County Fire Protection District, a Missouri State Highway Patrolman and two tow trucks were at the scene.

Heavy backups could be seen on the Missouri Department of Transportation's traveler map.
