Eastbound I-70 back open after crash near Rocheport Bridge

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Eastbound Interstate 70 is back open Thursday morning after a multi-vehicle crash.

The crash happened near the 117 mile-marker, between Boonville and Columbia in Boone County.

Both eastbound lanes of the interstate were originally shut down. One lane of the interstate reopened just before 8 a.m., according to a Boone County Joint Communications alert. The second lane reopened around 8:40 a.m.

According to a post from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, six vehicles were involved in the crash. Multiple people are injured.

Heavy traffic on and near the Rocheport Bridge was seen on the MoDOT Traveler Map.
