Tracking another hot & humid day before storms that bring a break from the humidity

TODAY: Thursday will be another ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, as severe storms remain possible tonight. A cold front will move in around 4-5 p.m. in the west, bringing a line of storms with it. This will move east through the evening and will bring storms alongside a break from the heat. Heat indexes will reach 100 degrees in some spots today. Hail, damaging wind, and tornadoes will be possible with storms.

TONIGHT: As storms exit between 10 p.m. and midnight, we will feel a return to a north wind. This will drop temperatures overnight into the 60s as skies clear.

EXTENDED: Friday will be a more pleasant day, with sunshine and highs in the low 80s alongside low humidity. Another area of low pressure arrives quickly on Saturday, driving up humidity and bringing another chance for strong storms. The morning appears mostly dry, but storms return by the noon hour, with another round expected in the evening. Temperatures likely don't get too hot, with highs expected to land near 80 degrees. Widespread rain may keep us cooler. Dry weather is forecast behind a few showers early Sunday. Cooler air is also expected, with highs in the 70s Sunday through Tuesday. Low rain chances return by the middle of next week.
