Flood Warning issued June 10 at 11:58PM CDT until June 14 at 6:06PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO

…Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Missouri…

Chariton River near Prairie Hill affecting Macon and Chariton
Counties.

* WHAT…Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Chariton River near Prairie Hill.

* WHEN…From Thursday afternoon to Sunday evening.

* IMPACTS…At 15.0 feet, Fields along the river begin to flood. At
19.0 feet, Farmland and secondary roads in the Chariton River
floodplain are under water. At 20.0 feet, State Highway 129 is
overtopped by flood waters 8 miles north of Salisbury.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 11:45 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 9.7 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage early
tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 20.3 feet Friday morning. It
will then fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
– Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
