Howard County Joint Communications

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A bridge in Glasgow is closed Tuesday after possibly sustaining damage.

According to a Monday night Facebook post from Howard County Joint Communications, MoDOT closed the Missouri River Bridge on Highway 240 to investigate possible damage to the bridge caused by two loose barges hitting a pillar.

Investigators will be inspecting the bridge Tuesday, according to the post. It is unclear when the bridge will reopen.

The post asks people not to move the blockades that are blocking the bridge.
