Tracking warm and humid weather in-between rain chances this weekend

TODAY: Showers and storms move through the region Friday morning, exiting in the east by the early afternoon. Rain coverage will be greatest along and north of I-70, while many in the south remain dry. Temperatures will range from the low to upper 80s from northeast to southwest, respectively, thanks to morning rain. Dewpoints increase today, leaving heat indexes in the upper 80s to near 90.

TONIGHT: Storms redevelop to our north tonight. Early in the evening, this may include folks near Highway 36, but the best chance for rain in mid-Missouri will be overnight into Saturday morning, as weakening storms spread south into our region. If this happens, it should clear the region by the daylight hours Saturday.

EXTENDED: We'll keep a low rain chance for Saturday morning, but it's most likely dry Saturday until isolated to scattered showers and storms spread from south to north in the afternoon and evening. Saturday will be hot, with highs in the upper 80s, but feeling like the 90s with rich humidity. More widespread rain returns Sunday through Monday, possibly keeping us cool. Temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s are expected, with still abundant humidity. Drier weather is expected early next week, but heat and humidity will likely remain, driving heat indexes well into the 90s.
