For the first time in 16 seasons, a pair of Big 12 rivals will meet on the hardwood.

On Thursday, Mizzou Athletics announced that Tiger hoops will be renewing its rivalry with Nebraska in a neutral-site game at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on Dec. 12. That will mark a six-day stretch where head coach Dennis Gates and company will play two rivalry games at T-Mobile Center, as MU will meet Kansas in that very arena on Dec. 6.

The Tigers now have five neutral-site clashes on the schedule for the 2026-27 season, as Mizzou will also face Marquette at the United Center in Chicago on Nov. 15, Illinois at Enterprise Center before Christmas and then Saint Louis at the Enterprise Center on Nov. 6.

When the Tigers and the Cornhuskers meet on the hardwood, it'll renew a rivalry that first started back in the 1907-08 season, as Nebraska is actually MU's fourth-most played opponent in school history. Dec. 12's clash will mark the 220th time that the two programs have met, with Mizzou holding the all-time advantage 126-93.

Coach Gates and company will be looking to earn back-to-back NCAA Tournament bids for the first time since a run of five-straight invitations from 2009 to 2013, when the 2026-17 season tops off. Meanwhile, Nebraska also had quite a year under head coach Fred Hoiberg, where the Huskers ended the 2025-26 campaign as the No. 14 team in the nation. The team posted a 28-7 overall and advanced the program's first-ever Sweet 16.

Tickets for the clash between Mizzou and Nebraska will go on sale later in the summer, according to Mizzou Athletics.
