4 youth, 1 adult from St. Joseph injured in Lake of the Ozarks boat crash

Four youth and a man from St. Joseph, Missouri, were injured in a boat crash on Monday at the Lake of the Ozarks.

The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District wrote in a social media post that that it received a call for a boating accident at the 38-mile marker and an MSHP report confirmed it was in Camden County.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Dylan Green told an ABC 17 News reporter that a 30-foot boat was heading down stream when it hit a large log in the water. All five occupants fell in the boat after the hit occurred, Green said.  None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, Green said.

A 12-year-old boy had moderate injuries, while another 12-year-old boy and 13-year-old boy had minor injuries, according to a crash report from MSHP. Another 13-year-old boy had moderate injuries and a 42-year-old man had minor injuries.

No one in the boat wore a life jacket, according to the report.

The lower unit of one of the motors on the boat was damaged and it began to sink, according to Green. The boat was towed from the scene with moderate damage.

Illinois man injured after being thrown from boat in Morgan County

A 21-year-old Glenview, Illinois, man was injured on Friday afternoon after he was ejected from a boat at the 5-mile marker of the Gravois Arm, according to a crash report from MSHP.

The report says the incident occurred at 1:30 p.m. Friday. He wore a life jacket and had minor injuries, according to the report. He was brought to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance.

The boat had no reported damage.  

No injuries reported in Callaway County rollover crash

MSHP’s Troop F – which covers much of Mid-Missouri – wrote in a 10:50 a.m. social media post that a rollover crash occurred on westbound Interstate 70 at the Kingdom City exit.

No injuries were reported in the crash. The passing lane was blocked for about an hour.
