Cooling Temperatures for the Workweek
SUNDAY NIGHT: Cloud cover continues to increase overnight with a low of 41 degrees.
MONDAY: Mostly cloudy skies are headed our way for the beginning of this week. A weak cold front will move through the area Monday night, and this will cause a slight decrease in temperatures as we head into Tuesday.
EXTENDED: Tuesday will be cooler, with highs in the lower 50's, but we will be seeing some sunshine. There will be a slight warm-up on Wednesday, but we also have a slight chance of seeing some rain during the day. Those chances increase later in the evening as we see a second cold front approach. This cold front will cause a drop in temperatures by around 20 degrees by Thursday. We also are expecting precipitation to be tracking along with the front as it moves through Mid-Missouri. Since the precipitation is likely to happen in the night time, there are chances that we could see some wintery precipitation along I-70 from this system. Chances of seeing some flurries and snowflakes stick around through Thursday afternoon since high's for Thursday stay in the mid 30's. Right now, the highest chances for this precipitation will be south of I-70. We dry out as we close out the work week and temperatures slowly crawl back to the upper 40's by the end of next weekend.
