Tracking decreasing shower and storm chances through the holiday weekend

TODAY: I'm tracking a mild and cloudy start to the day as temperatures begin in the upper 50s and low 60s. Winds will blow out of the east at 5-10 mph, gusting up to 15 mph, as cloud cover persists, only allowing temperatures to warm into the upper 60s by the afternoon hours. Isolated to scattered showers and storms will be possible during the day, but no significant rainfall is expected from this system.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking showers and storms exiting, but cloud cover will remain, keeping temperatures from cooling off much past the upper 50s by the end of the night. Winds will be blowing at 3-6 mph, shifting into the north overnight.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking warmer weather returning by Saturday afternoon as temperatures get into the upper 70s, but more scattered chances of showers and storms are expected by the afternoon and evening hours as well. Sunday is trending drier, with slightly more sunshine expected, allowing temperatures to once again get into the upper 70s. Monday, Memorial Day, is expected to be largely dry as well, with a mix of clouds and sun throughout the day, which will allow temperatures to get back into the low 80s by the afternoon hours. There will be a chance for pop-up storms near the Lake during this time as well, so be aware of any Memorial Day plans. This warmer weather is expected to persist throughout the majority of the week, but daily rain and storm chances will also make a return in the forecast.
