Tracking more rain Tuesday Morning ahead of a drier week ahead

TODAY: Tuesday is wet, with potential for flooding early this morning. Heavy rain yesterday, and continued moderate to heavy rain will have us at risk for flash flooding. A flood watch is in effect through 1 p.m. Rain will become lighter with time this morning, and potentially taper off for many by mid-morning. Mostly dry conditions are expected by noon, but a few showers are possible through the rest of the day. Skies remain overcast today. Highs may not escape the 60s in some places, but at most highs are in the low 70s. Additional severe storms are unlikely today as the outflow from morning activity should clear the region and limit any rebuild of instability locally. Storms may redevelop later in the day ahead of a cold front, but it's likely that this will be well east of our region.

TONIGHT: Cloudy skies remain overnight, and light showers remain possible. Temperatures cool into the 50s by sunrise.

EXTENDED: Wednesday may start with a few showers in the south, but the day looks mostly dry, with clearing skies through the day. Skies may start mostly cloudy, then become partly cloudy by the afternoon when highs reach the mid-60s. Clouds will be most persistent in the south. Low rain chances and mostly dry conditions are forecast for Thursday alongside highs in the 60s. Rain and thunderstorms are likely on Friday, but no severe weather is expected. We'll warm into the 70s Friday through Sunday. Low rain chances are forecast over the weekend and into Memorial Day.
