Mizzou men's basketball coach Dennis Gates continued to add depth to his backcourt, with the addition of former Western Carolina guard Cord Stansberry, on Sunday night.

Stansberry's commitment to the Tigers, which he confirmed on his social media, means there are now six players to pledge to Mizzou out of the transfer portal, this offseason. Stansberry will fill the final spot available for Coach Gates, which means the 2026-27 roster is complete. You can find a full look at that roster below.

  • Guard Jason Crowe Jr. (incoming freshman)
  • Guard Jordan Crawford (South Dakota transfer)
  • Guard Kennard Davis Jr. (BYU transfer)
  • Guard Cord Stansberry (Western Carolina transfer)
  • Guard Annor Boateng (returner)
  • Guard Aaron Rowe (returner)
  • Forward Trent Pierce (returner)
  • Forward Bryson Tiller (Kansas transfer)
  • Forward Jamier Jones (Providence transfer)
  • Forward Jaylen Carey (Tennesee transfer)
  • Forward Toni Bryant (incoming freshman)
  • Forward Aidan Chronister (incoming freshman)
  • Forward Nicholas Randall (returner)
  • Forward Luke Northweather (returner)
  • Center Trent Burns (returner)

Stansberry is joining Coach Gates' squad after averaging 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in his junior campaign. He saw action in 30 games in the 2025-26 campaign, earning a start in all but one of those outings. The 6-foot-4 talent scored 20 or more points in seven of those contests.

Mizzou will be the California native's third stop on his college journey. After starting his career at Pepperdine, Stansberry transferred to Western Carolina, where he spent two seasons with the Catamounts and quickly emerged as a crucial starter.

Over the course of his three years in college hoops, Stansberry has scored a total of 891 points, grabbed 270 rebounds, logged 135 assists, 59 steals and four blocks. He's also started in 59 of the 92 total games that he's played in.

He will come in at the same time as a historic freshman recruiting class for Coach Gates, which features two McDonald's All-American players.
