Tracking scattered showers and warmer weather to start the weekend

TODAY: I'm tracking scattered showers possible along and south of I-70 during the morning hours, gradually drying up throughout the afternoon. Isolated showers could still be possible during the afternoon and early evening hours, but most will stay dry. Temperatures will start in the mid-60s, warming into the low 80s by the afternoon hours with the help of winds out of the south at 10-15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph, but persistent cloud cover will keep it from getting too warm.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking clouds and rain chances exiting throughout the evening and overnight hours as southerly winds at 10-15 mph, gusting up to 20 mph, continue. Temperatures by the end of the night will drop into the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a drier and warmer day on Sunday as sunshine is expected throughout the majority of the day. Due to this, paired with continued southerly flow, temperatures are expected to get into the mid to upper 80s, but humidity could make it feel closer to 90 for some. On Monday, the majority of the day is expected to be dry, but during the late evening/overnight hours, a front is expected to pass through the area, bringing the potential for strong to severe storms. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect Monday evening, lasting overnight. Showers and storms could linger into Tuesday, drying up through early Wednesday morning, and after, cooler weather is expected. On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, temperatures will only get into the low 70s, before more widespread sunshine on Friday allows temperatures to get into the mid-70s.
