Man seriously hurt in Boone County semi-truck crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 47-year-old Mountain View man was seriously hurt after a semi-truck crash in Boone County just before 6 p.m. Thursday.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2007 Kenworth W900 on Route UU and Gillespie Bridge Road when he failed to navigate a curve and went off the right side of the road.

The semi-truck overturned and hit a road sign and an electrical pole.

The man was taken to University Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries.

The semi-truck was totaled. The man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The crash caused nearly 1,500 Boone Electric Customers to be without power just west of Columbia Thursday evening.

Power was restored around 9 p.m. Thursday.
