Tracking a cool and dreary Tuesday ahead of warmer weather this weekend

UPDATE:
24 hour rain totals have reached as high as an inch in some locations, with most closer to a quarter inch of rainfall as of 10 a.m. Tuesday. Additional rain is expected to add to this, with up to another half an inch possible in spots.

TODAY: Tuesday is a dreary, wet, and cool day. Scattered showers are ongoing this morning and will become more widespread through the day. Temperatures will cool to the low 50s this morning, before rebounding into the mid-50s at most in many places that see persistent rain. In the far north, likely north of HWY 24, rain will be more sparse, and so temperatures may be near 60 this afternoon. In many locations, we may have already recorded the day's high temperature early this morning. Winds are generally from the north through the day.

TONIGHT: Temperatures may fall into the upper 40s, as light rain tapers across the region. North winds are light, but keep us cooling into the middle to low 40s by sunrise. Some showers are possible at sunrise on Wednesday.

EXTENDED: Wednesday is generally dry after early morning shower chances. Clouds will hold until the afternoon, helping to keep highs in the 50s one more day. Sunshine and south winds push us back into the 60s on Thursday. Warmth continues into the weekend with 70s Friday through Sunday. Some rain chances are possible Friday, but the best chance will come Saturday night into Sunday morning. Mother's Day should see some dry time, as it looks like rain chances are best early.
