Missouri Military Academy under “contained campus” amid coronavirus outbreak

Missouri Military Academy (MMA)

MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri Military Academy (MMA) announced yesterday that it will contain its campus through April 3 in response to COVID-19.

During the contained campus, MMA cadets will have little contact with anyone outside of the school and will not be allowed to leave campus.

In a news release, MMA President Brigadier Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret.) said, "Our goal is to continue providing the best education possible for cadets while we also manage our campus appropriately to support public health."

In a previous note to students, MMA officials said cadets return Sunday night from a spring break.

In addition, the school also says they're taking preventative measures such as increasing cleaning for custodial staff and monitoring the health and well being of every cadet. They will have their temperatures checked daily.
