Tracking a few rumbles of thunder tonight, cooler Friday

TONIGHT: Few showers and/or rumbles early, followed by clearing and a cooler night. Lows near 40 with valley fog possible in the morning.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cool with highs near 60 degrees.

EXTENDED: A cold front moving in from the north will bring a few showers and rumbles of thunder this evening, with gradual clearing overnight. As skies clear, river valley fog may develop in low lying areas with light winds present. Friday is looking cool with a northerly breeze and highs in the lower 60s. We'll start the weekend off cool as morning temperatures may dip to below 40 degrees in some spots, but the afternoon bounces back into the 60s. As high pressure settles in and moves east, we'll see a wind shift to the southwest on Sunday, bringing temperatures back into the 70s. Next week will be a bit more active as a cold front moves in between Monday night and Tuesday, bringing a chance of showers and storms. The front looks to settle to our south on Wednesday, with showers and rumbles centered along that. Rain amounts through Wednesday will range from about 0.5" to 1". Severe weather risks are looking low, but we'll continue to monitor once we get into the weekend and data becomes more fine-tuned.
