Mizzou baseball takes down No. 24 Arkansas to end losing streak

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Tigers toppled the Razorbacks for the first time since 2022, winning 6-1.

Head coach Kerrick Jackson and company came out in game three against Arkansas firing on all cylinders. Jase Woita and Kam Durnin opened the game with a pair of singles, and a walk followed by a hit-by-pitch brought the first run across for Mizzou before an out was recorded.

Kaden Peer and Donovan Jordan added two more scores on a pair on fielders choice's to go ahead 3-0 in the first inning for the second time this series.

However unlike in game one, the Tigers managed to fortify the lead, thanks to a Pierre Seals two-run homer the very next inning. Eric Maisonett also cleared the fence for a solo shot in the fourth, giving the home side a 6-0 advantage.

On the mound, JD Dohrmann went just a single inning before Keyler Gonzalez came in in relief. During his stint, he threw five scoreless innings while fanning five batters and allowing just two hits.

Arkansas was held scoreless until the ninth inning, when they finally got a run across, but Sam Rosand came in to close and struck out the final batter to secure Mizzou's first SEC win at home since May 10, 2024.

Up Next - The Tigers start a four-game road stretch by taking on Southeast Missouri State. First pitch for that game is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 28.
