Tracking a mild Wednesday, pattern gets active late week

TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the mid-50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the mid-70s.

EXTENDED: Southwest winds continue to keep temperatures mild heading into tonight, with additional cloud cover to keep temperatures parked in the mid-50s. Wednesday is looking beautiful with wind gusts reaching about 20 mph and highs in the mid-70s. Thursday will be breezy ahead of a cold front with increasing dew points and instability ahead of a cold front that will bring thunderstorms by late evening. Prior to any rain, Thursday will be the warmest day of the week as we approach 80 degrees or just above. Storms look to move in late, bringing widespread moderate rainfall and a few strong wind gusts. The Storm Prediction Center has a level 1/5 severe risk to cover the potential of isolated severe storms across most of Mid-Missouri late Thursday night into very early Friday morning. Friday will be cooler in the wake of the front with lingering rain and a few storms through about midday. The weekend starts off pleasant with highs in the lower 70s and dry weather on Saturday, but another chance of storms is possible Sunday into Monday, adding to our already high rainfall totals for the month. Through early next week, we could see 2-3" of rain on top of the more than 5" of rain we have seen so far since the beginning of April.
