Tracking another potential for strong to severe storms today

TODAY: I'm tracking a mostly dry but cloudy start to the day with temperatures in the mid-50s walking out the door. Breezy southerly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph will help temperatures warm into the low 80s by the afternoon, before storm chances begin by 2-3 pm. Isolated strong to severe storms are expected during the afternoon hours, mostly north of I-70, but then a more widespread line of storms will arrive by 8-10 pm, moving west to east overnight. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect today.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking widespread storms exiting by 12-3 am as breezy northerly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph take over. This will help temperatures drop into the upper 40s by the end of the night.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking clouds exiting throughout Saturday morning, but northerly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph are set to continue. This is why, although sunshine will return, temperatures are only expected to get into the mid-50s by the afternoon hours. For Easter Sunday, it will be a chillier walk out the door in the mid-30s, but persistent sunshine throughout the day will aid in temperatures warming back up into the upper 50s by the afternoon hours. After a slightly warmer day on Monday, a brief round of showers is expected during the evening hours into early Tuesday morning, which will lead to a short cooldown on Tuesday afternoon. After this, dry, warm weather is set to make a return for the middle and end of next week.
