After one season in Columbia, Mizzou guard Shannon Dowell will be looking for a new home.

On Tuesday, the junior announced on her social media that she will be entering the transfer portal. That comes after she transferred to MU from Illinois State to play for head coach Kellie Harper in her first season, ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

"To my coaches, Thank you for pushing me, believing in me, and helping me grow as a player and a person," Dowell said in her social media post. "To my teammates, Thank you for the memories, the battles, and the bond we built. The relationships I've made here will stay with me forever."

The O'Fallon, Illinois native gave the Tigers some clutch minutes over the course of her lone season. She was second on the team in scoring with an averaged of 14.9 points per game, shooting at a 44 percent clip from the field. She also averaged 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists per night.

Losing Dowell was less than ideal for the Tigers, but Coach Harper does have some depth coming in. in the guard department The team's leading scorer Grace Slaughter will be returning for her fourth season, while four-star guards Natayla Hodge and Jada Maples have each already signed with the Tigers.

Dowell is the first Tiger player to announce her entry into the transfer portal, as fans await the decisions of a couple of other key starters in guards Abbey Screacke and Chloe Sotell.
