Tracking quiet weather today before a wide range of weather Sunday

TODAY: I'm tracking a cool start to the day with temperatures in the mid-30s. Mostly sunny conditions are expected throughout the day as winds shift into the south at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. These conditions are why temperatures will get into the mid to upper 60s by the afternoon hours.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking clouds entering the area throughout the evening and overnight hours as winds continue to blow out of the south at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. This will keep temperatures in the mid-50s for the entire night.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking the potential for storms picking up during the morning hours, bringing a chance to produce damaging winds, before exiting throughout the afternoon hours. Temperatures by the afternoon can be expected to get into the low 60s. Behind this, more showers will arrive, but a strong gradient of cold air will also be coming with it. This is why by the evening hours, temperatures in the 30s and, as a result, a transition to snow will be expected. This will also come with very strong northerly winds that aren't associated with storms, which could cause visibility issues as snow falls. All of this is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect for Sunday. Monday will start frigid, with temperatures in the teens and wind chills near zero, only warming up into the upper 20s by the afternoon hours. Similar conditions can be expected on Tuesday morning before slightly warmer air returns by the afternoon hours. A much more noticeable warmup arrives after the passage of clouds and potential precipitation Tuesday afternoon-overnight, with afternoon temperatures Wednesday-Friday warm back up into the 60s and 70s.
