Crash with bicyclist on Business Loop 70 in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was taken to the hospital after they were hit by a car at the intersection of Rangeline Street and Business Loop 70 on Wednesday morning.

An ABC 17 News videographer arrived at the scene just after 7 a.m. and saw a person lying on the ground in the road, while emergency personnel provided aid.

Officer Lori Simpson with the Columbia Police Department tells ABC 17 News the bicyclist is stable after being hit by a red Chevy Silverado. The Silverado was turning left and hit the bicyclist.

An MU Health Care ambulance, two Columbia Police Department vehicles and a Columbia Fire Department firetruck were on scene.

The scene was clear just before 7:30 a.m.
