Tracking cool and mostly sunny conditions ahead of weekend rain

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny and cool, with highs around 50 degrees.

TONIGHT: Increasing cloud cover, with temperatures in the 40s this evening. Lows drop to the lower 30s overnight.

EXTENDED: More clouds are expected tomorrow, but rain chances continue to look low for Thursday aside from a few isolated sprinkles. Friday is sunnier and slightly warmer with highs near 60 degrees, and still dry. Widespread rain arrives by early Saturday, and while there is some uncertainty on how far north the rain makes it this weekend, most will see steady showers throughout the day on Saturday. Rain totals will be healthier south of Hwy 50, where an inch of rain is possible, while amounts fall to around a half inch along I-70 and northward. Conditions clear out quickly by Sunday, with another warming trend into the 60s early next week.
