Tracking a mild end of week ahead of spring-like weather next week
TODAY: Friday is another mild day, with north winds keeping highs near 50° under mostly sunny skies. Winds start light this morning, then pick up late in the morning, to early afternoon. Sustained wind speeds of 15-25 mph are expected, with gusts to 30 mph possible.
TONIGHT: Cool air trickles in with the north wind overnight, dropping lows into the 20s under mostly clear skies.
EXTENDED: Saturday will be cooler, with highs forecast in the low 40s under mostly sunny skies. Clouds increase Saturday night into Sunday as a warm front returns to the region. This brings temperatures back into the 50s, if not 60s, in some areas. Sunshine returns by midday Sunday for an overall bright day. The atmosphere remains dry enough to stave off rainfall through Monday, as more of us reach into the 60s by the afternoon. Moisture streams into the region from the Gulf Coast on Monday, potentially lingering through Wednesday and into Thursday. Confidence is low on the extent of the moisture and the coverage of rainfall it will yield, but our greatest chance for rain comes Tuesday.
