Tracking limited flurry chances amid another dip in temperatures

TODAY: Thursday is another chilly day, a bit cooler than Wednesday. Clouds are more prominent today, with a north wind keeping high temperatures in the 20s.

TONIGHT: Disturbances in our north flow and saturation at the low levels of the atmosphere may be just enough to wring out a few snowflakes tonight. After 7 p.m. tonight, some light snow may fall, accumulating to no more than a half inch. It's most likely that we get less than trace amounts. Given the snow already on the ground, it's unlikely that this minor accumulation will have any meaningful impact on current conditions. A greater threat is the already-present black ice.

EXTENDED: Friday is another day of mostly cloudy conditions. Temperatures are colder yet, with highs in the teens after lows in the single digits. Another signal of light snow comes on Friday evening, but it will again have negligible impacts. Saturday brings a chance at more sunshine, but it will be the coldest morning yet. Negative low temperatures and wind chills as low as -15° will prompt another ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. A slow warm comes Monday through Wednesday. A return of moisture comes with this, but it's unclear how far north it spreads, and how quickly it leaves. Still, a rain and/or snow chance will accompany this increase in moisture over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday.
