Tracking dangerously cold weather and accumulating snow

TODAY: I'm tracking a mild day as temperatures warm into the upper 30s by the mid-afternoon hours. Clouds will be increasing throughout the day as winds blow out of the north at 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking stronger winds out of the north at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, leading to temperatures dropping into the single digits by the end of the night. These breezy winds paired with the single-digit temperatures will lead to wind chills in the -10 to -15 degree range, which is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will go into effect.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking temperatures only warming into the low teens by the afternoon hours on Friday as temperatures still feel like they are in the single digits throughout the day. Clouds are expected to persist throughout the day ahead of the system that is bringing widespread snow throughout the weekend. Snow is expected to start up early Saturday morning, lasting throughout the early Sunday afternoon hours. Single-digit temperatures and negative wind chills will also be present throughout the entire weekend. This is why the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days will continue until Monday morning.
