Tracking arctic cold and dry air

TODAY: Sunday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, with wind chills reaching subzero at times through the day. South winds will swell temperatures back to near freezing by the afternoon, but another cold front is on the way this afternoon. Some flurries may be possible in low clouds behind the front this evening, but cold is the big story here.

TONIGHT: North winds usher in another arctic air mass that drops temperatures into the single digits and teens. This means subzero wind chills will be possible again Monday morning, extending our ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day.

EXTENDED: Monday starts and ends cold, as highs only reach 20, keeping wind chills in the single digits to low teens at best all day. Dry and cold air looms the rest of the week, with highs in the 30s Tuesday, and near 40 Wednesday through Friday. Signals point to precipitation chances by Friday and Saturday, but confidence is low in this happening, and details surrounding what falls and when.
