Tracking a few strong storms for parts of Mid-Missouri Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild. Lows in the mid-40s.

TOMORROW: Starting off dry but showers and storms develop near a cold front by early afternoon. Some storms may be strong south of I-70 with potential hail, gusty winds, or a brief tornado. Highs in the mid-60s.

EXTENDED: The passage of the cold front will be very apparent by Friday with temperatures dropping into the low 50s for highs. We get even colder by the weekend with another strong storm system moving in by Friday night into Saturday. Rain is likely all day on Saturday, with the possibility of a few snow showers north of Highway 24 as temperatures will be slightly cooler, near freezing, in the morning for those locations. A dusting of snow on grassy or elevated surfaces can be expected for the northern third of the area through late Saturday morning with wet snow showers. Rain clears out Saturday night, leaving us drier entering into Sunday. Highs on Sunday will be about 10 degrees warmer, topping out near 50 during the day. Next week looks a bit more mild with 50s for highs, but the pattern remains active with chances for rain and storms almost each day.
