Star linebacker Josiah Trotter heading for NFL draft

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou football is losing an All-SEC recipient to the big leagues.

Sophomore linebacker Josiah Trotter announced on social media that he will be declaring for the NFL draft in the spring. The transfer from West Virginia started every game for the Tigers during his one season in Columbia.

While at Mizzou, Trotter picked up 84 total tackles, good enough for fourth in the SEC and is second in tackles for loss (13.0). He picked up a First Team All-SEC from conference coaches, an a Second Team nod from the Associated Press.

During his redshirt freshman season with the mountaineers, he was selected as an All-American by The Athletic and the Football Writers Association of America, as well as being named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the year.
