Tracking showers and blustery winds
TODAY: Thursday starts with scattered showers and south winds. Winds keep us warm this morning, with temperatures expected in the 50s until a wind shift through mid-morning. From 7-10 a.m. a cold front will push out rain and bring in westerly winds. Winds may gust up to 35 - 40 mph at times during the afternoon, while sustained around 15-25 mph. Temperatures will fall into the 40s through the afternoon with wind chills in the 30s.
TONIGHT: Temperatures and wind chills continue to fall. Temperatures fall to near 20° as winds relax. Wind chill values fall to the single digits early Friday morning.
EXTENDED: Friday through the weekend looks dry, with abundant sunshine, and more mild air. Highs on Friday are a very seasonable low 40s, with 50s returning on Saturday. We'll cool on Sunday, but remain mild in the 40s. A gradual warmup comes next week, with highs in the 50s Monday through Wednesday, Christmas eve.
