Tracking a warmup Tuesday

TODAY: Monday is chilly, but bright, with highs in the 30s under mostly sunny skies. Winds are light from the north early, before becoming southerly in the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Temperatures fall to the low 30s upper 20s early Tuesday.

EXTENDED: South winds around 15-20 mph will boost highs into the 50s on Tuesday ahead of a weak cold front Tuesday night. This brings a chance at showers Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. North winds keep highs in the 40s on Wednesday. This cooler pattern continues through the rest of the week, with northerly flow aloft. The upper level jet stream will also send small disturbances our way through the rest of the week. The uncertain nature of these small disturbances will leave chances for hit and miss rain/snow showers later this week, but currently chances are too low to include in the forecast. We had been tracking what looked to be a potential wintry event Thursday and Friday, but confidence in this has decreased this morning. This is typical of these types of events, so expect more adjustments to the end of the week forecast. Otherwise, confidence is high in cooler air each day into the weekend, leaving highs below freezing by Friday and Saturday.
