Tracking rain and a few storms south of I-70 Wednesday morning

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and chilly with lows in the low 40s. Showers and storms possible for areas south of I-70 overnight into Wednesday morning.

WEDNESDAY: Showers and thunderstorms possible for areas south of I-70 through mid-morning, especially near the Lake of the Ozarks. Clearing out by afternoon with highs in the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Another cold front will approach the area on Thursday, but before it gets here we can expect temperatures to rise into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees! That front will bring the potential of showers and thunderstorms to Mid-Missouri in the afternoon, with a limited severe weather threat near I-44. Once the front passes through, we cool back down into the low 50s for highs on Friday. Another strong storm system will bring a chance for rain and potentially a few snow showers north of Highway 24 late Friday night into Saturday. Most of the precipitation will stay as rain for Mid-Missouri as temperatures Saturday morning will be above freezing and highs make it to the low 40s on Saturday afternoon. Rain chances continue into next week with a mild and active pattern expected.
