Tracking the coldest air of the week for this morning
TODAY: Thursday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day as arctic air and a light wind will combine to create wind chills near zero. Highs reach the low 20s under partly cloudy skies.
TONIGHT: Skies clear more tonight, dropping temperatures again into the teens by Friday morning.
EXTENDED: Sunshine and southwest wind will push highs back into the 40s. This warmth sticks around for Saturday. Overnight lows will drop below freezing each day. An area of low pressure looks to track through the region between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. This may bring precipitation Sunday morning. While confidence has increased slightly, track, timing, precipitation type and amounts are still uncertain. With highs in the 30s, we'll be tracking a chance for snow and rain if this holds together. From there, we continue to expect cool air into next week.
