Tracking another chance at accumulating snow ahead of a cold week
TODAY: Monday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day as accumulating snow is expected across the region. Snow will begin around midday, and wrap up this evening. Our greatest concern is for trouble with the evening commute. For the latest updates and detailed information, click visit our ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day Blog. Skies are overcast, and highs remain in the 20s with variable light winds.
TONIGHT: Snow remains on the ground overnight, with deep cold dropping temperatures into the teens overnight. Winds remain light.
EXTENDED: Southwest winds and sunshine will attempt to return highs to near freezing by the afternoon, but little melting is expected. Snow accumulations will remain into Wednesday. Highs are forecast in the upper 30s Wednesday ahead of another cold front. This one likely leaves us mostly dry, but a flurry or sprinkle is not out of the question. Temperatures fall again, leaving us waking up in the teens on Thursday. Cold air keeps highs in the 20s Thursday, but warmer air returns highs into the 30s and 40s Friday and Saturday respectively. Precipitation trends are lowering for Friday. We'll keep a slight chance for wintry precipitation for now, but odds are beginning to favor dry weather ahead of an uncertain weekend.
