COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou men's basketball team's undefeated start to the 2025-26 campaign continued in dominating fashion, on Sunday, as the Tigers defeated the VMI Keydets 106-68 to improve to 3-0.
You can watch the full postgame press conference with head coach Dennis Gates and players in the video player below, along with extended highlights in the slideshow above.
After taking just a 10-point lead into the locker room at halftime, MU really turned up the heat in the second half, out-scoring VMI 56-28 in the final 20 minutes.
The scoring charge was led by a pair of Tigers, who got into the 20 points club. For the second-straight game, guard/forward Mark Mitchell led the team with 24 points, as well as 10 rebounds for a double-double, while guard Anthony Robinson was right behind him with 20 points of his own.
In addition to Mitchell and Robinson, three other Tigers got into double-digit scoring, as Jayden Stone (16), Jacobs Crews (14) and Sebastian Mack (14) rounded out a balanced-shooting attack for Coach Gates' team.
Mizzou out-did VMI in just about every statisical category, except for its 3-point shooting. The Tigers shot just 33 percent from beyond the arc, as Robinson accounted for half of MU's seven triples with four on the night. Crews nailed two from beyond the arc, while Blair Oaks alum Luke Northweather got one to fall, as well.
Up next - Mizzou will continue its home stand when Minnesota comes to Mizzou Arena for action on Wednesday, Nov. 12. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
