Tracking a mild and mostly dry end to the week
TODAY: A cold front will pass through this morning, bringing a wind shift and a cooler afternoon. Highs are expected in the 60s, with afternoon winds from the north around 10-15 mph sustained, and gusting to 25 mph.
TONIGHT: Temperatures fall into the 50s after sunset. Skies are clear through sunset, and winds are calm overnight. Temperatures fall into the 30s and 40s by sunrise.
EXTENDED: The rest of the week looks generally bright and dry, with only partly cloudy skies and a few showers possible Friday morning, and another quick passing chance for a few showers in the north on Saturday. Right now, conditions look dry for football at Faurot Field, but we'll want to keep tabs on Saturday's forecast as small changes could increase a chance for a rain shower or two late Saturday afternoon. Showers from both Friday and Saturday's chances yield negligible amounts in the rain gauge if anything at all. Temperatures are expected to reach the 60s for highs each day through Saturday, but behind Saturday's rain chance will come a big influx of cool air. Lows may dip as cold as freezing on Sunday morning, ahead of afternoon highs in the 40s later that day. A hard freeze is likely across the region, with temperatures in the 20s to start Monday morning.
