Man dead after head-on crash in Camden County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 19-year-old Steelville man is dead after a head-on crash in Camden County just after 11 p.m. Sunday, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The report states the 19-year-old was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala on Highway 5, just under a mile from Dry Hollow Road, when he crossed the center line and hit a 2022 Peterbilt 389 tractor-trailer, driven by a 45-year-old Owensville man, head-on.

The report states the 19-year-old was pronounced dead on scene. The 45-year-old was not hurt.

Both the Impala and the tractor-trailer were totaled. The report says the 19-year-old was not wearing a seatbelt.
