Grace Slaughter earns spot on Cheryl Miller Award watch list

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mizzou Women's Basketball is represented on the 2026 Cheryl Miller Award Preseason Top-20.
On Wednesday, Grace Slaughter was tabbed to the Cheryl Miller 'Small Forward of the Year' watch list, which honors the best small forwards in women's college basketball. Texas forward Madison Booker has won the award in back-to-back years.
Slaughter, who was named the 2024-25 SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, averaged 15 points per game during her sophomore season, finishing as the 18th-best scorer in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) last year. She also registered 3.6 rebounds per game while shooting .485 from the field and .858 from the free throw line, the third-best mark in the SEC during the 2024-25 campaign.
The Grain Valley alum and 2023 Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year is the state's former top-ranked recruit for the 2023 class and earned McDonald's All-American honors in high school.
The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame will present the award to one of five finalists at a later date.
