Mizzou volleyball improves winning streak to six with victory over Georgia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Volleyball took down Georgia 3-1 for its sixth straight win, heading into the Tennessee road trip.

The Tigers improved to 15-7 with a win at the Hearnes Center against the Bulldogs on Sunday. MU held the Bulldogs to a .167 hitting percentage across the match. Senior Caylen Alexander led the team with 22 kills and senior Regan Haith had six of the Tigers' 13 blocks.

The first two sets were back-and-forth, with no team leading by more than five in either. Mizzou took the first 25-22, but the Bulldogs fought back and won the second by the same score.

In the third set, MU stormed out to a 9-2 lead and never looked back. They extended their lead to 12 at one point, and went on to win 25-14. From there, the Tigers battled through to take set four and the match, scoring four unanswered to steal the victory 26-24.

Up Next - Mizzou will travel to Tennessee to take on the Volunteers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 31.
