Tracking a dreary and cool weekend
TODAY: Friday brings back rain chances, as the outer bands of a low in the panhandle of Texas reach into the region. We're starting dry, but clouds increasing through the morning and showers following through the day, will both work to keep us cooler than Wednesday and Thursday. Highs likely settle in the mid-50s.
TONIGHT: Off and on shower chances continue from Friday morning through the overnight, keeping temperatures cool Friday afternoon, and warm Saturday morning. Overnight, lows only fall into the mid-40s.
EXTENDED: Similarly, Saturday will be overcast with scattered rain chances, keeping temperatures in the 50s through the afternoon. Shower chances will linger for Sunday, again likely capping highs in the 50s. Rain chances are focused in the southeast as rain is working away on Sunday. Only some lingering sprinkles or spotty showers are forecast from cloudy skies on Monday, and a passing wave stands a chance to bring showers to some on Tuesday, but dry time looks to dominate the forecast. Overall, weekend rain totals are underwhelming, with many struggling to pick up a half inch, near Columbia and northward, and some just over a half inch southwest of Jefferson City. Drier weather dominates the forecast through the middle of next week.
