Mizzou soccer ties No. 11 Arkansas on senior night
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Tigers drew against the Razorbacks 0-0 in the final home contest of the regular season.
Missouri turned in one of its most impressive defensive outings of the season, holding on to a scoreless tie against one of the country's highest scoring teams. The result is the team's best against a top-15 opponent since October 8, 2023.
"We needed to compete, and we competed for 90 minutes," said Head Coach Stefanie Golan. "We knew Arkansas was going to be very physical, they always are, and I thought we did a good job to not let that affect us through the game."
Redshirt Sophomore goalkeeper Riley Wilkerson made her first start for the Tigers, making five saves to halt the Razorbacks' offense.
"I don't think there's any better opportunity to be able to get a start than against a top 25 opponent at home on senior day. I think it's pretty perfect," said Wilkerson.
In addition to Wilkerson's five saves, Mizzou's back four, led by senior Jessica Larson, fended off nine corner kicks and 13 shots from Arkansas. The Tigers retaliated with six attempts of their own, their best chance coming in the 73rd minute when Brianna Buels (Junior) skimmed one across the crossbar, missing just wide.
