Tracking a warm afternoon, storms late tonight

TODAY: Partly cloudy with highs in the mid-80s. Gusty south winds up to 20-25 mph.

THIS EVENING: Dry through the evening for high school football. Isolated storms will develop near or after midnight as low level winds and moisture increase.

EXTENDED: Rain coverage increases into Saturday morning as a cold front pushes into the area. Clouds and morning rain look to limit the severe risk locally, but storms could develop along this boundary by late Saturday afternoon, which will more than likely set up along and/or south of I-44. Scattered showers exit late Saturday night as winds wrap around low pressure, bringing cooler air in for Sunday. Rain amounts will reach around 1" or so, with slightly higher totals across eastern and southeast Missouri. Morning lows on Sunday drop to the upper 40s with highs in the mid-60s. Next week starts off mild with highs in the mid-70s, and another cold front plows through between Monday night and Tuesday, bringing cooler air by mid-week with highs back into the 60s by Wednesday.
