Tracking a warm and windy Friday, storms by late evening

TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and warm with lows in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with highs in the mid-80s. Gusty south winds up to 20-25 mph.

EXTENDED: Tomorrow looks to be the hottest day of the week as southwest winds pick up during the day, gusting to 25 mph. A slow moving cold font approaches from the west, but storms look to hold off until late, keeping high school football and other sport activities dry. Showers and storms ramp up overnight as low level winds increase, bringing more moisture to the region. The overall forecast hasn't changed much in the last 24 hours. Clouds and morning rain look to limit the severe risk locally, especially with the front parked along our eastern tier of counties by late afternoon. Storms could develop along this boundary by late afternoon, which will more than likely set up along and/or south of I-44. We could see a few lingering spot showers as winds wrap around low pressure in the evening, bringing cooler air in for Sunday. Rain amounts will hang around 1" or so, with slightly higher totals across eastern and southeast Missouri. Morning lows on Sunday drop to the upper 40s with highs in the mid-60s. Next week starts off mild with highs in the mid 70s, but another cold front plows through between Monday night and Tuesday, bringing a quick hit of rain and cooler air by mid-week with highs back into the 60s by Wednesday.
