Tracking warm air through the end of the week, storms by Friday night

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and mild with lows in the lower 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and warm with highs in the lower 80s.

EXTENDED: Tonight is warm with a few clouds and lows in the lower 60s. We'll feel the effects of an upper ridge of high pressure tomorrow and Thursday with more sunshine and highs in the low 80s. Friday is the warmest day of the week as temperatures soar into the mid-80s, around 15 degrees warmer than normal. By Friday night, moisture surges in with low level winds, allowing a batch of rain and storms to develop and move east through the evening. It looks like rain will be ongoing on Saturday morning, which could limit any severe weather chances, especially if the cold front is progressive and moves to our east early in the day. If it lingers, we may have enough time for instability to rebuild and scattered strong storms to develop ahead of the front. The prior scenario seems more likely given current model guidance, so our main highlight for now would be beneficial rain around 1-1.5" through Saturday night. Behind the front, temperatures cool into the upper 40s Sunday morning with highs in the mid-upper 60s to end the weekend. The cool down isn't very pronounced as we'll stay in the mid-70s for most of next week with another shot at rain Tuesday night into Wednesday.
