Tracking above-average heat and sunshine this weekend

TODAY: Sunny and hot with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s. Winds from the south may gust up to 15 to 20 mph.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and still above average in the upper 80s.

EXTENDED: Summer-like weather is expected all weekend with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures to enjoy. Rain chances return on Monday as moisture increases from the south, leading to scattered showers and storms during the day. A cold front will keep rain going through late Monday and Tuesday, with rain ending before Wednesday. Rain totals will be light, less than a quarter inch across the area, but a big cooldown to the 70s is expected for the rest of the week.
